COVID-19 POLICIES
In 2020 and 2021, Calgary Actors' Studio safely and successfully ran winter, spring, summer & fall IN-PERSON programs following all Alberta Government guidelines. We had over 800 students during this time. We switched to Zoom classes whenever mandated.
SummerACT 2020, 2021 & 2022 were held in-person, with adjusted COVID protocols, as per the Guidelines in place from the Alberta Government at that time.
Fall/Winter & Spring 2021-22: in-person classes were held in a very large room (2,800+ sq ft ) to allow for social-distancing. We follow all public health guidelines in place (and updated, as required, throughout each program). Fall/Winter & Spring 2022-23: we will follow all public health guidelines, still using a very large room.
In the (now, less-likely) event the Alberta Government shuts down in-person classes, we will switch to Zoom, wherever possible.

Acting or Musical Theatre?

REHEARSE & PERFORM… learn by doing!
NO AUDITION… all you need is the desire.
A REAL PART... for EACH STUDENT. Our scripts are tailored, so no one is just "in the chorus". A great opportunity to learn and grow.
DIFFERENT SCRIPTS... for each program. Come more than once: it's a new experience every time!
NOT BABYSITTING… It's a full-blown professional-style program, but one that's open to all, no matter your level of experience. You'll surpass your highest goals.

ONE WEEK or TWO WEEK PROGRAMS: straight into rehearsal and then… on stage, performing like pros.
MAXIMUM OF 16 STUDENTS (per program) means specialized attention.
Calgary Actors’ Studio is Alberta’s fastest-growing acting school. Since 2010 we’ve worked with over 4000 students, and we’re not done yet!
Students 16 years of age or older at start of their program, add GST.
Low-income families are welcome to apply for subsidy. Everyone can learn acting in Calgary!

Start Monday, perform that Friday! Act & sing your way to a Musical Theatre performance adapted just for you. It's seems impossible to get so much done in so little time, but it's not... thanks to our amazing professional instructors! You can’t imagine a better week of summer. And... you can come more than once: a different musical every week!
TWO WEEK MUSICAL

Imagine what you can accomplish in TWO weeks! A bigger challenge, and a one-hour performance to get the audience standing and cheering. It's like jumping right into the profession.

Who needs singing? You just want to act. We get it: for those with a love of acting. Great scripts specially prepared for student actors. Experience exactly what professional actors experience... all focused on the crazy fun of rehearsing and preforming a play in record time. Start Monday, perform that Friday! And if you want to come more than once, it's a different play every single week!
TWO WEEK PLAY

Same as above, but a much bigger experience, with a more challenging full-length script. Work through every step of the professional actor: from initial table-reads, to interpretation/discussion, and then on to staging/blocking, rehearsing and then... performing! Like walking into rehearsal at a professional theatre company.
